3.z in Türkiye 2024

3.z's study trip to Turkey was anything but dull! In Istanbul, the class was warmly welcomed by students from Cevre Koleji, where they experienced Turkish schooling up close and gained in-depth insights into the Turkish education system through classroom observations and interviews with Turkish students. Their sportsmanship was put to the test in an intense basketball game—in which we narrowly lost—but we had our revenge with a victory in futsal! The adventure continued on the European side of Istanbul, with visits to the magnificent Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar, where history and culture seemed to leap from the stones. The day concluded at a book café, with a lecture by journalist Sultan Coban on Turkish history, society, and the educational system.

After Istanbul, six sunny days awaited in Alanya, where beach volleyball became the highlight of each day, filled with plenty of intensive practice and competition. There was also time for an inspiring visit to the University of Alanya, where critical Turkish students offered our students new perspectives on the education system and life in Turkey.
